Large scale watering semi established plantings

Do you guys have any watering techniques/tools for large scale watering?

Curious what tools or techniques you use for very dry conditions.

Right now I’m working off 3 water supplies. I use a wheeled ely rapid reel with 100’ hose that connects to another 100’ hose. I run each at about 2.5 gpm for 1 hour and then move the hose to other side for another 1 hour. With the dry conditions and fast drainage that is what I consider a crutch for now.

40 hours later and 15K gallons of water I‘m done for another 3 weeks without rain.

After a few years is it just time to say F it and call it survival of the fittest? Generally I’ve moved to more drought tolerant plants so that does help.

I dumped a small pool off the patio a week ago to get a sense of lack rain and heat - fast approaching conditions of 2012. Last time we locally had anything over 0.5“ of rain was mid May - now a long spell of exceptional heat for the area.
