exterior door replacement

I have been asked to do an exterior door replacement for a client and they have bought one of those no shim door hanger kits. I've seen them used for interior doors but not exterior. Do these really hold the door (hinge side especially) plum for the long term? The tab that bends around the wall has a slot rather than a fixed hole, which makes me question if this would hold a front door plum for the long term (going into drywall). Also, how much trouble is it to re-install trim over the metal tabs?

I would install it the old fashioned tried and true method that you are familiar with personally.

We used to use that type in commercial construction to hang solid core doors in metal studs walls, so I think it should work in wood studs. The screws will need to get into wood from both sides. The trim for the frames we used snapped onto the frame so I can't help you there.
