You picked 2 windows that typically don’t get compared and I would Not choose either one in respective categories. RBA is overpriced and Lindsay is an average vinyl window and not the best in customer service and horrible lead times even before covid hit. If your house is the type that a vinyl window wood work Id go that route and picket the change. There is a reason builders use cheap vinyl windows predominantly unless they are doing High end builds.

Our house has vinyl siding. It’s a cape cod style house. It’s decreased a ton in value since we bought in 2012 so looking to spend as low an amount an possible for a decent window to help it sell.

That rules out RBA. Not familiar with what else is available in your market . Either get more bids or roll with the Lindsays IMO.

You should be comparing a vinyl to a vinyl, wood windows are almost always much more.

Hi, lunamiela, have you considered Alside windows? It looks like they would be available in Illinois and they sell a double-hung option. We typically sell NT windows when our customers want vinyl but NT isn't available in your area and I don't recall ever having any complaints with Alside's windows. Check out their Mezzo windows series, those are available with double-pane and triple-pane glass options.
