Are those actually growing out white, or is that really a pale yellow-green? Hard to tell for sure in the pics.

Ok, so not white. Whites in that shape aren't common, so that would have made ID much easier, lol.

They could be a wax type, or a handful of others. There's a goodly handful of various stuff out there now. How hot are they, have you tried them yet?

Did she buy the plants from a regular nursery, or was gifted with them, or grew them from seed?

Def. looks like banana peppers to me as well. There are sweet and hot versions, so be cautious when tasting.

They start out light green and change to yellow then orange-y red when fully ripe, which is also when they're sweetest.
