I chose Torquay for my countertops. Originally for my backsplash I had chosen Fiandre French clay tile in Glacé (a white that is just a smidge on the warmer side). I went back to the store where I choose my backsplash and the lady was telling me once it’s up in my house there isn’t a drastic enough color difference from a white subway that it’ll make much difference and it’s a fraction of the price.

Would you go with the white subway? They’re elongated (4x16), which I thought would be a neat look.

Our kitchen was just finished and we used Cambria Torquay and white subway tiles with white grout. I’ll post some pics. I remember looking all over this site for pics of what I picked. Hope this helps!

A 4x16 size would not be my first choice in a backsplash; unless the style of the space fits it. Show photos of both options, but I find that a basic white tile tends to fall a bit flat in design.

The 4x16 white is on the left. The slightly warmer clay tile in Glacé is on the right. Holding up Torquay there in the middle. Bear in mind this store has fluorescent lights.

Cabinets are gray so did not want to go with gray tile.

Why is 4x16 not a good choice?

everything looks nice together. not Seeing the need to go with the more expensive one in this case. I like the clean look with your countertop choice, which has a lot of movement
