Design Dilemma Kitchens

Mix Materials in Kitchen

Is there a way to successfully mix zellige tiles, a soapstone countertop and laquer cabinets? I really like these materials but I don't know if they will coordinate well together. (Mostly concerned about the combo of soapstone with the laquer cabinets.) If you have any color suggestions that would be great too. Colors I favor are whites, greens, blues, lighter shades of wood. I'm not a huge fan of grey unless it is mixed with more natural colored materials.

if you like them, they work. It's your home. I used a 4x4 white zelllige tile on the wall behind my vanity in a powder room. The vanity top is a gray soapstone on an oak cabinet. Just enough warmth to the room. All walls and trim are ultra white. Your floors add the warm tone, the tile will add the shine. Once you finish and the kitchen is set up, you'll be pleased with keeping it light.
