Thank you for your advice, @User! I didn't know that! We've been living 11 years with original 1940 wood cabinets that were in pretty rough shape (though impressive that their bones held up so many years!) that I am 100% unaccustomed to nice finishes!

Is there a minimum projection you would recommend?

I like single pulls on large drawers It is much easier to open the drawer and also keeps the drwer opening equally all the time .

Agree, @Patricia Colwell Consulting. So I assume that a half-moon shape (4-5") would not be appropriate as a single pull on a heavy 31" cabinet? Hmm. Darn, they're cute, but seems like definitely not the right solution for my island drawers-- for several good reasons pointed out here.

I am curious.…not having big heavy drawers. I would think that having 2 pulls on a drawer would be sort of a ”hassle” because I would think I’d have to get in front of the drawer to open it. I wonder how many people actually really use both pulls…

Agree Gargamel. I was inquiring about one pull on a drawer this large.
