You paid for it, they should fix it. Is this a removeable panel used to service the motor? Then it can be recessed. I'm thinking the contractor has been paid and long gone. But the tile work looks very good so I would call him and ask him if they could recess it. Question is this a real panel or just trim applied to the front of the board.

A pro did this, huh? Needs to be torn out and re-done (wood only). Make sure they use silicone sealant between the stone and the wood, too. And if you can, get them to lay a small silicone strip under the wood where it meets the floor, to raise it a tiny bit and seal it, rather than have water seeping underneath.

You mean the wood panel on the side of the tub correct? It looks too small. It should run the entire length of the tube or be a series (two, three or four) that run the length of the tub with one of the ten concealing the opening. If done right, there is a small edge around each panel or they run seamlessly from end to end,

thanks all - the panel is removable. She will redo it or I will and deduct from what I owe her. I just needed to know I wasn't being too picky. She really has done great job on the rest of the bath.

You are not too picky. Everyone getting work done should inspect the work done that day if possible. Tell the contractor you have a concern about something because it is easier to get the worker to fix it while they are on site then when they are on another job.
