S W recommends Incredible white.

Anew Gray has a LRV of 47. So less reflective and pretty dark so if you want that hue but lighter, I suggest SW Agreeable Gray. It has an LRV of 60 so lighter and brighter. If you want warmer hue, try SW Accessible Beige. Your carpet looks more beige than gray? It’s LRV is 58 so lighter too. Just depends on what direction you want to take.

However, I would go much lighter in your home. A good off white would be my choice. Take a look at SW Snowbound or SW Greek Villa.

I was thinking of painting this room black like sw iron ore. Would this look good? The anew gray is in the adjoining rooms with 18 ft ceilings with a lot of natural light. This room is the only room where the ceiling drops down to 8 ft. I would paint the walls sw iron ore and trim ceiling are already alabaster.

That would be very dramatic and exciting but it requires some dimension and nice accents to get the right look. Something like this.

I cut and pasted this together. It’s important to note you would need white accents and chairs plus white drapery panels but you could do it.
