I need to see a to scale plan of the space and also why herringbone at all

Without any diagrams or drawings, I used my spidey senses to think about your hallway. It's only 3 feet wide, but you want to use 2 foot long tiles in a herringbone layout ?? It will look bad, in addition to making the narrow hallway look too busy. Stick to a offset pattern or subway staggering or even straight rows, for a cleaner less busy look. And what is the flooring in the rest of your home? Large format tile is not the best for herringbone either.

You need a minimum of 1:3 ratio tile size for successful herringbone. So consider more narrow tile to get this right. Look up “tile patterns” and look at suggestions given the space and compatibility with rest of flooring. This pattern with your stated tile size would work in a 3’ wide hallway but only if it makes sense with adjoining flooring. A lot to consider.

I really like the 1:2 ratio straight herringbone that we have in our bathroom. But it’s a 6x12 tile in a larger space than your hallway. Where else is the flooring going? Can you give more context?
