Our first house was an old 4 square like yours but the porch had not been coverted to living space.

This is the style of the front door on that house. I never had any reason to think that it was anything but original to the house.

I would keep the one that you have, (unless of course, it really needs to be replaced). There is the same window design on your bow window, so they do compliment each other. If yours is in good condition, consider just painting it a pretty color to compliment the house.
