I would do 2 doors on that closet or you won't be able to easily reach most things in there.

No doors in spaces like this makes more sense…all storage more easily accessed /useable…things needed in view…lots less trouble to find things

We have to have doors with the kids. I can’t deal with the clutter! Have had open in the past.

You have a 67.5" wide room, and installing a minimum 32" deep bench. That leaves less than 36" to walk through (turning the corner you have a better 40.5" hall) for a high-traffic area with 3 competing door swings. What exactly can be done at this point, anything like moving doors, flipping the closet/dogwash to the other side? Maybe even fixing the tedious light switching or adding a window?

If everything must remain as is with the yellow the only option, then split the cabinet separate from the bench. An 18" deep bench aligned across the way with the dogwash size, and an 18" deep full-to-floor cabinet aligned with the 40.5" hallway. Also it might be good to put a wall on the open end of the dogwash.
