Has anyone partially sunk a small japanese soaking tub to make it easi

Would love to find a stainless steel soaking tub under 60 gal round or square drop in. less than 45-55” would be ideal.

This is fascinating if ever I were to consider such a thing, which I now clearly will not. It’s intriguing to review how one physically “ gets into” something and then out again ( hence my prior comment.) I only have 2 legs and so need one for balancing.
The photos above are terrifying. The steps look much worse than clambering in from the adjacent floor. When looking to buy a house I looked at a house with the freestanding regular size tub & the owners had created a narrow tiled step adjacent— whoops, just no.
There’s a reason why hot tubs are big enough to have steps inside, and handrails.
I’m not saying one can’t use a small - volume soaking tub if desired , just that there’s a lot of thought and design/ building that needs to go into the “ ins and outs” of the situation that are different from other tubs.

I need a lot mor einfo as to why , where and most important the reason to spend this much money to hide 1/2 the tub.

What is the tub being sunk in to? Can't sink anything on the 2nd floor but you can build up to it. Can't sink anything on the first floor unless it's new construction in most cases.

Have you ever actually used a Japanese soaking tub? I have a friend with one on the deck sort of ,like a hot tub 2 people pretty tight fit and honestly I love to bathe and I aslo love a deep soaker tub but I am 5'9" tall and so no 45" tub is going to work for me. So we need more info please.

We just purchased a home with a partially sunken Japanese soaking tub (first floor). It’s very easy to get in and out, and eliminates the step, making it more streamline. I love it. I’d like to find one slightly larger. Any suggestions on brands offering the best quality?
