Need help with a television wall

We have a house, we have recently completed building. The house is very open and I do like it that way. However we have a wall in the living room with a tv on it and a glass topped table below it. The wall looks so unimaginative and empty. I have been wondering if I should get some local art, or perhaps try to have some wood applied to the wall. The wood in Belize is very beautiful. Can you help with some ideas?
