Never had moss in planter soil or around grow bags, been in use for years. I can't imagine it's bad for the soil. Might provide more nitrogen. Should I mix it in with the new worm castings. It's in the veggie planters, which I rotate. Is this good or bad

Moss is not necessarily bad for the soil although it is an indicator of soil quality. Heavy, consistently wet soils will tend to develop moss and a heavy enough coating over the top of the soil surface will block needed oxygen exchange. It will provide next to nothing in terms of plant nutrients but it can be incorporated into the soil if you can't easily scrape it off. The concern with moss growing on the soil of a container of any description is telling you the climate is too wet OR your container soil retains too much moisture.

I grow my entire garden in containers and they will often develop moss across the soil surface in winter. I scrape it off every spring as I am tidying up or refreshing the soil.
