That is Ipe wood and it has a clear sealant, no stain.

of course it is...:( ..... what would you suggest for a homeowner that cannot use Ipe wood...the smooth side of rough cedar is what we are going to use...could you call out a stain color that would work and look similar? thanks

what a great way to upgrade a tired frontage without fixing something permanent to the walls; this has given me a great idea for the front of our property to incorporate the fencing/gate that is our boundary area. thanks
