what kind of wood used for the floors, and what color stain is used?

    The floor is reclaimed southern yellow pine planks, 1 ½” thick, from a factory. No stain was used; the color to the wood is a patina built up from generations of use. The planks were sealed with a clear, matte polyurethane.

    Additionally you can see the original circle saw marks on the tops of the planks from the saw mill. These are likely long leaf pine planks, a species nearly wiped out due to their use for construction. They are on the rebound now and reclaiming them from factories and old warehouses is a perfect use for them. They looks great!
