coffered ceiling issue

We have coffered ceiling in family room which will be painted in the next couple of weeks. My issue is, aside from the recessed lights, there are 2 the vents as well. Question is: do I leave the vents white or color them same as ceiling?

Definitely something I will take note of if we build again or the next time we move houses. For now, we plan to stay here for at least 4 years and thus making updates to create a beautiful and comfortable home for us. Walls are painted SW Stone Lion and ceiling boxes will be SW Foothills. Ceiling height is 12'. Thanks in advance for your helpful insights!

Also, you need a piece of art in place of that mirror. It is competing with the chandelier, trim out the windows as they look unfinished, and add some curtains. Im guessing there is a coffee table under the chandelier so no one hits their head?

Paint the vents the same color as the new paint.

The picture was from a year ago when we first moved in. I have since then added window dressing. I knew something was off, so it's the darn mirror! Will keep an eye on a painting or something. Thanks a bunch!

What's the rule for paintings/wall decor in comparisson to mantle size? Definitely somethings wider than the top painting, yes? TIA

Usually to art would be relatively the same size as the fire box. Do you have a head on photo of the fireplace? It is a little hard to tell from this photo.

Maybe just a tad more wider and taller than this painting? Wow...from painting the ceiling to redecorating the fireplace. This is why I love Houzz!

Yes! A larger painting would look much better! Because your firebox has black tile around it it makes it appear bigger so your art will need to be bigger so everything is balanced. Love your rug, by the way!
