Thanks for your interest. The trellis canopies are quite complicated structurally. They are steel posts with welded cantilevered members - this is an angled intersection and the curve is a minor steel element added afterwards. You can see this a bit more clearly in photo 1/25 for the project (from the outside). In any case the steel posts are anchored down through the roof to structural beams below - some of which were added for this purpose. I hope this is helpful. Regards - Lynn
