This majestic home sits on 29 acres overlooking the May River in coastal South Carolina. Meandering through a live oak forest, an intimate drive leads to the 10,000 s.f. main house. Six solid masonry columns of grand scale adorn the front stucco façade, foreshadowing the stately spaces and fine finishes found inside. Playing upon the site’s natural features in creating the estate, a charming, serpentine bridge crosses a small pond to an island that is home to two guest bunk houses. A five-bay Carriage House is reminiscent of a classical stable and is connected to the Main House by a porte-cochere. This breezeway is highlighted with elliptical arches, lattice and trellis, soon to cover with native vines, creating a garden element that adds natural texture to the estate.
