Ipe Hardwood Decking

Traditional Landscape, London

Ipe Decking comes with side grooves so you can fit it with hidden decking fasteners. Ipe Decking originates from South America and is a very popular choice. Ipe is an environmentally responsible choice which naturally resists rot, decay, insects, and mold without the use of toxic chemicals which are used in other decking products. It is also naturally fire resistant. Ipe is dark brownish olive to dark olive in appearance, sometimes greenish due to lapachol. The grain of this hardwood is interlocked and the texture is classed as medium, luster is moderate or lacking depending on the species, the wood has a characteristic odor. Ipe is well known for its strength and is thought be the one of the hardest woods in the world (strength is three times harder than oak) and is highly resistant against fungi and termites and other pests. Decking is perfect for adding class to your garden by transforming your out-door sanctuary into a lovely place to eat, drink and unwind. The hardwood decking allowed colour variation between planks which can vary from light to dark shades.
