CYAN Horticulture
Atop the roof of a condo building this patio space offers fine views onto the downtown core and a string of
snow-capped mountains further afield. Keeping all interventions minimal, CYAN Horticulture introduced a long bar table to accommodate informal gatherings. Moreover six tall planters each exhibit one of four celestial shades and are dressed with either severe boxwood or supple arctic willows.

This modern tropical courtyard garden has a small patio area with a dining table for four. Succulents in a copper trough container are a focal point on the built in bench. Sitting in the antique balinese teak chairs make a nice place to view the interior of the courtyard. Black bamboo and phormiums surround the courtyard to give privacy. This photo was taken from inside the homeowners living room looking out the living room window. This garden view expands the visual space of the homeowners small living space.

This group of Italian terracotta pots are planted with a variety of plant material. Edible plants like lettuce, herbs and a small blueberry bush share the container with perennials and annual flowers. In a small garden space you really can plant a large variety of materials as long as the colour palette is harmonious. I chose shades of blue, silver, and a mix of green textural plants. In the foreground container I put miniature lettuce ('Tom Thumb') along with the herbs. When the lettuce is harvested it doesn't take long for the other surrounding plants to fill in the spot.
Unique combinations of plants make your containers more interesting.

Green Elevations
This is a narrow side yard that isn't used much but there was a window from the office that looked out on the space. We wanted to make it a bit more visually pleasing for the home owner.
