Craftsmen Construction Inc.
This project was highlighted in Remodel Spokane Magazine, we modified the homeowner’s master bathroom to create a beautiful, open space which is much more user friendly and will allow the homeowners to remain in their home until they “choose” to live somewhere else. Universal modifications included replacing the sunken tub with a
glassed-in shower, installing a wand shower head and easy use on/off handles accessible without getting wet, increasing lighting with a SunTunnel skylight, and installing a quiet exhaust fan with timer. Jim Breidenbach, owner of Craftsmen Construction, also suggested using the additional space in the bathroom from the remodel to incorporate a stackable washer and dryer unit. This adjustment now allows the homeowners to do laundry without having to haul loads up and down the basement
stairs.

Feinmann, Inc.
This Arlington family hired Feinmann to transform the small, dark, outdated kitchen in their beautiful 1870s Victorian home. The homeowners (one of them is a chef and both love to cook) asked the design team to create a sleek, modern chef’s kitchen – complete with high end cabinetry and professional grade equipment – and do it in such a way that the contemporary kitchen would be harmonious with the rest of the home’s more traditional aesthetic.
The new kitchen is light, spacious, and highly functional, with generous windows and ample counter space. The design highlights the stainless steel and glossy blue Arclinea cabinetry. Two stainless steel workstations topped with white Carrera marble float in the center of the kitchen, making a dramatic design statement. One island contains a sink, stove, and hood, and the other a larger sink and work surface. The stainless steel cabinets are visually anchored to the space by a dropped ceiling panel. The cabinets along the wall include a glossy blue Arclinea cabinet that is nine feet long and contains refrigerator units and tall storage.
The new design peeks through horizontal windows that visually connect the interior and exterior, and a skylighted spine through the kitchen further links the house to the garden. Recessed lights and pendant lights work in combination with generous windows and doors to create a bright and user-friendly space. Other creative ideas include a blackboard embedded within a long pantry unit, and a tall six shelf bookcase (with a library ladder) that houses the homeowners’ cookbook collection.
Homeowner quote:
"This kitchen is exactly what I wanted. We had so many brainstorming sessions that before it was built, I already knew where I would store everything. I especially like the library ladder which makes every inch of this room functional."

Laughlin Design Associates, Inc.
This condominium project was in serious need of an over haul. Designer was called in to design a water wise user friendly landscape. Every thing was bulldozed off so that a new patio with planters, trees, shrubs and perennials could be installed. Every thing was water wise and the patio welcomes residents to spend time outside.

burlanes interiors
With their children growing up, Mr & Mrs Hills in Southend-On-Sea decided it was time to give their much loved family kitchen a well deserved renovation, creating a space for all the family to use and enjoy.
They wanted a kitchen that had plenty of storage and was user friendly for all the family, so commissioned Burlanes to transform their cramped and dated kitchen into a spacious and open-plan room. Walking into Burlanes Chelmsford, the couple took an instant like to our Wellsdown kitchen; our take on the classic Georgian country kitchen; built on the notions of good proportions and symmetry, combining traditional charm with all the benefits of modern living.

DeVance Electronic Lifestyle
Photos by Suad Bejtovic
The DeVance Team has collaborated with various synergistic partners in order to create a one-of-a-kind ‘Experience Center’ in the North Dallas corridor. This Electronic Lifestyle facility has quickly become a savvy social and entertaining environment; set up to demonstrate just a few things one can do in their home or office to enhance their quality of life through the use of technology. Guests are dazzled by a plethora of custom electronic selections, incorporated into the latest technology in a cozy, yet high-end residential-style environment. The entire space is home to dozens of custom paintings by local artists and master-crafted wood works and built in cabinetry. The reception area is complimented with a 55” custom designed Art Screen TV with retractable art that rolls up into a motorized casing to reveal a 4K TV screen. The additional spaces show beautifully, with a modern family room, a sophisticated entertainment lounge, and fully functional, stocked wet bar. An acoustically treated 2-Channel listening room houses the finest in McIntosh audio equipment complete with a turntable. This room was designed for vinyl record or streaming music for ‘audiophile enthusiasts.’ The DeVance 18 seat movie theater boasts a state-of-the-art perforated ten foot screen, JBL Synthesis 7.1 surround sound system and crystal clear Runco projection system. Guests enjoy luxurious motorized leather theater seating complete with warm throws and leather ottomans for comfortable movie viewing. The DeVance restrooms continue the Electronic Lifestyle theme on a more personal level, as they are equipped with the top of the line sensor faucets and sinks by TOTO USA, Electric Mirror TVs and the ‘cleaner and greener’ electronic TOTO USA Washlets!
The ultimate vision for the DeVance Experience was to create an environment unlike any retail storefront or big box shop, where a unique and exciting experience awaits existing and prospective clients, guests, trade partners and business associates. Collaborating partners are encouraged to utilize the space as a mini-custom showroom of their own; accessing a relaxing environment to lay out clients’ space plans and select samples for custom countertops, specialized cabinet designs, fabrics, paint, carpets, etc. Essentially, The DeVance Experience Center is the hottest design/build/electronic lifestyle showroom around, lending a whole new meaning to “industry partnerships!” Based on current knowledge, there is no other showroom that is comparable.
The layout of the new Experience Center was designed specifically for event marketing. To name a few, continuing education classes and training seminars for builders, remodelers, architects, and interior designers, professional meet up groups and local business functions. Private client tours, relationship appreciation functions, sports and movie watching parties are just a smattering of the promotional campaign lineup. The center provides a professional, yet relaxing and entertaining venue for professional industry trade gatherings and events.
The Experience Center offers a showcase for user-friendly automation and control and variety of electronic lifestyle systems throughout the space via the use of an iPhone, iPad or smart tablet. With ease and elegance, guests may choose to control the lighting, shades and draperies, thermostats, whole house music, multiple televisions and video displays (many of which are concealed behind beautifully framed artwork). Mimicking many of the latest possibilities for the high-end homeowner, all of this in a comfortable and luxurious environment that makes them feel right at home!

Use smart strategies to make your small living room feel larger.
When carefully planned, a small living room can be both attractive and user-friendly. When you take the time to consider your storage needs and daily lifestyle, you can create a small but smart living room that increases the enjoyment of your home.
Make sure the furniture you choose for your small living room is appropriate for the space, For example, avoid sofas with skirts. You want to go for furniture raised off the floor.
Keep the area free from clutter and allow traffic flow in and out of the room.
A good living room lighting scheme uses different kinds of light, set at different levels, that work together to make the space warm and attractive.
Try to resist the urge to use only small pieces in your small living room. Instead, consider an oversized chair that gives unexpected scale to the space, and balance out the space with a large textured area rug. Or an oversized floor mirror to give depth.

The customer elected to reface their existing oak kitchen with a more modern look. They chose a Shaker style of cabinet door, opting for a Satin White finish on solid Maple for the main part of the kitchen and a contrasting Charisma (dark) color stain on Maple wood for the island. New Granite counters were installed along with a new tiles backsplash. Storage enhancements were added to make some of the cabinets more accessible/user friendly, and more functional. New stainless steel pulls were installed to provide the “perfect” finishing touch to this beautiful new kitchen.
Premier Kitchens
This previously old and dated kitchen was given a major overhaul to open up the room whilst providing a more user friendly bench space area that can now be accessed from all sides. The updated modern art deco kitchen is the perfect mix of old and new with a feature freestanding stove and butlers pantry. The client wanted a modern Shaker look, something that was daring, hence the black cabinets. The client supplied their own floor and splashback tiles and the satin polyurethane shaker doors are in Dulux Vivid White / Black Caviar. A 20mm stone benchtop was installed by Benchmark Stonemasons in Caesarstone White Shimmer. Although the new kitchen is modern, it still maintains a subtle art deco look to suit the classic style of the rest of the home.

Silver Thomas Hanley
At Silver Thomas Hanley collaboration is a key part of our workflow dynamic, our new office is set out to reinforce and enhance our approach to design thinking. Creating a welcoming space which showcases our design skill as a key driving factor behind.
The design is a human-centered open plan office layout which incorporates collaborative spaces, a staff kitchen, function space, two meeting rooms, two board rooms and individual work stations. Built for growth, there are enough working areas to be both fit for purpose and future proof. Created to be a positive, user friendly working environment; the layout maximizes on natural light. This helps to regulate circadian rhythms and promote mental alertness, productivity and psychological wellbeing. Subtle changes in floor finishes, discrete timber dividers and glass panels throughout throughout create an atmosphere of transparency whilst simultaneously implementing intuitive way-finding and noise control.
Silver Thomas Hanley is not just a well-designed office layout, but holistic system where authentic creativity and unique ideas can be nurtured. Resonating the approachable nature of the entire Silver Thomas Hanley team, the layout places the Directors in the heart of the open plan, creative zone. This breaks down any perceived hierarchy barriers and promotes approachability.
Taking advantage of the surrounding views and natural light, the fit out is unobtrusive. Discrete timber panels, glazing and sheer curtains allow natural light to flood the office from one end to the other. Similarly, the strategic position of the staff kitchen and walkways near windows prevents furnishings from obstructing natural light and provides city views throughout the office.
The placement of the firms iconic logo and use of orange throughout create interest and brand identity for staff and visitors alike. This is supported by the use of quality products and specifications throughout. This creative office design reflects Silver Thomas Hanley's approach to all of their work.

The clients wanted an updated space with a more inviting and user-friendly kitchen. Opening the wall between the kitchen and dining room allowed the entire kitchen to be extended.
The sink was shifted, so they could see their son playing in the living room while doing dishes. For atmosphere, warm colors were selected for the cabinets, flooring, and backsplash contrasted by granite countertops.
