Rustic Charm Kitchen

Traditional Kitchen, Birmingham

Our clients had a lot of space for the kitchen, breakfast room and keeping room, but the layout and use of the space made for an underwhelming kitchen. They needed a more spacious kitchen that was easily accessible, and more storage. To do this, we detached the kitchen island from the wall and created a path to walk between the two and for easy access to the rest of the kitchen. The island was also expanded to accommodate for more seating. The two focal points in the room were the rock wall and the stone hood above the cook top. The rock wall added a rustic element to the room, while the copper accent tile complimented the Mexican floor tiles. The dark walnut cabinets complimented the tile flooring, while the green island brought some color into the room. Since there was a lot of space in the room, we were able to add plenty of storage in the kitchen, including a hidden coffee station. To make up for losing the computer nook under the stairs, we built a custom cabinet that held a TV, and the family computer. When they weren’t in use the cabinet could be closed and appear like another piece of furniture. The client now has a beautiful space for entertaining family and friends.
