Rather than locate an object in the center of the site, we saw the opportunity to pull the program elements of the house apart into separate buildings to frame the ocean view and let the landscape and exterior living space take center stage on the site. By pulling the house back and apart, the separate structures allow for framed views of the tree and ocean across the open space and meadow flowing through the center of the house.
