This is a extremely complicated project which is part of a whole home to the stud re-imagining, but it deserves its own portfolio tab. To start with this room began life as the second floor of a two story living room. We created the step down by traying a portion of the living room ceiling below, and the walls, ceiling and floor are two layers thick with noise proofing compound between. The room is wired for 7.2 surround sound on the main TV and there are floor plugs underneath the sofas. the cabinetry is knotty alder and the cabinets under the tv extend in to a wall cavity that houses the homes data center. The outside wall contains 2 in wall liquor cabinets that have sliding doors for optimum storage. The entrance is hidden by a Murphy Door hidden in a bookshelf.

This home theater has been created in the Marc Pridmore Designs Showroom in Costa Mesa, CA to display the capabilities of turning any room into a home theater. This 15 x 17 space was simply white walls and commercial tile ceilings with tracklighting prior to it's conception. The carpet, faux finished walls, wall paneling, coffered ceiling, custom made velvet auto reclining theater chairs and fully automated austrian shades and were all built into this room. Not one part of this home theater is an original part of the room.

High-powered executives envisioned a Napa Valley getaway for family and friends to gather. Fascinated with the architecture of Umbria, Italy, the homeowners worked with their design team to create an authentic environment using chestnut timbers, antique roof tiles, antique floor tiles and stone sourced and imported from Italy, with many other elements that were crafted abroad. The trompe l’oeil panels in the home theater are based on the 18th century frescoes of an Italian villa. Photography by Blake Manosh
