This two-story Family Room with the accented colors crown the Palladian window. The silk swags and cascades are lined and interlined. In front of the window is a small game table with a chest board which is always up. Under the elaborately carved consul table are two silk upholstered ottomans for party overflow seating. The gilt sunburst from Schumacher fits perfectly and adds some whimsy. The most interesting part of this room is the coffee table/ottoman. This has an upholstered surround with two wooded trays in the middle...so perfect for relaxing in style. The Torchiere Floor lamp has the bulk to support the huge space. The Ralph Lauren sofas have lovely curves to create an illusion of formality.

Storage cubes make great occasional tables in Living Rooms. You can stow away toys, magazines, blankets, games and anything else you don’t want cluttering up your area. You can sit on them, use them as foot stools, and when used together as a cluster, you can turn them into a cocktail table with a large tray.

This space was a pass through from one side of the house to the other. Bedrooms are beyond the door by the bookshelves. It was the perfect setting for the 3 teen girls to gather with their friends, watch tv, work on the computer (which is not visible in the photo, listen to music or just hang out. Comfy feminine fabrics in yellow and green with a pretty floral pattern created a cheery atmosphere. The sofas are slightly curved to play against the angled planes of the ceiling. Peter Rymwid
