My husband and I had hired Douglas Construction to gut and then design and build a second bathroom in our 19th century farmhouse. The bathroom presented many challenges, including an uneven floor, multi-angled ceiling, and structural issues. All were resolved expertly and efficiently. Doug proved not only to be a master craftsman but also a skilled designer who seamlessly paired unusual architectural elements with modern day fixtures and amenities. When we asked for design guidance, he willingly provided it. Yet, he never pressured or imposed his taste on us. The end result is a gorgeous, meticulously crafted bathroom that exceeds all expectations. We truly could not be more pleased. We originally hired Doug Mott to help correct a substandard floor installation done by Hood Flooring out of Lambertville, NJ. We knew he was more than simply a woodworker and handiman - but a true craftsman and artist. We then commissioned him to create a pair of end tables for a room that had an African theme. I wish there was a way we could attach images to these reviews, because the results were abosutely stunning. Since then, he has redesigned and remodelled our kitchen island and a master bathroom. In both cases, people who visit invariably drop their respective jaws. Mr. Mott excels in design and quality. His personal qualities include dependability & responsibility, meticulousness, and approachability (easy to communicate with). I will also add fairness and honesty. I have known him for at least fifteen years now and can make that statement unequivocably. A suggestion for those who decide to hire Mr. Mott - especially for bigger projects: trust his instincts on design, materials and appraoch. They are uncannily correct. The finished product will speak for itself.

Doug Mott designed and crafted a contemporary desk that compliments my apartment décor. Doug was very easy to work with and made creative/functional suggestions that integrated with my personal ideas. Not only is Doug an experienced carpenter/craftsman, but he is also a sculptor. His aesthetic eye makes his designs and renovations a showpiece that embraces beauty to all who behold his work. I personally now love to work at my desk making the mundane a pleasure.
