Monica Nordquist Design

The traits that I most respect and admire about Monica is her innate ability to know and respect her client's personality, desires, wishes,and needs . She will state her professional opinion if she thinks there may be a better solution and gently nudge you in a different direction. Monica is highly talented, punctual, organized, and kind. She is easy to work with and now I am honored to be her friend.

One word: COLOR. Such an important aspect of any project! One huge strength Monica has is working with color. She heard me, and she coached me. She obtained larger samples and gave me plenty of time to see them in different rooms in different lighting.... Very pleased with the results! Second word: LIGHTING. Another key component that can be under emphasized! Learned a ton from Monica about scale and impact, as well as function. Will most definitely work with Monica Nordquist Design again!

Monica Nordquist is a very accomplished and creative designer. She is very thorough in her designs which makes my job as a builder much more efficient.

I hired Monica Nordquist to help me rethink, reorganize and do some redecorating after many years of raising a large family! Things had come in to the house for years, and nothing had gone out! Monica came in and after the first walk through and interview with my husband and myself, quickly showed a wonderful sense of what our life needs were, what we could live without, and how to make the few changes that would bring order and peace to the physical layout of our home interior. She was able to be tactful, direct and encouraging - a difficult combination when dealing with a lifetime accumulation of possessions and furniture! She was patient while we thinned out what we needed to get rid of, and very helpful in choosing new furniture and flooring that gave us open space to breath in, looks great, and is practical. She kept us from costly mistakes, saved us time, money, and most of all, the trouble of doing it ourselves - with better results. I couldn't have done it without her! We couldn't be happier with the results!

I have a very large house and I was converting my flooring from carpet to wood. As a single male, I am very good at DYI repairs but when it comes to design I have no business to be involved so I hired Monica to act as my consultant. I asked her to help select the right wood flooring for my house based on the style of my house and the furniture I own. She suggested a certain type of engineered wood, not too distressed and certain color and I have to tell you, what a finished product. I had over 2700 square feet of wood installed including closets and stairs and I completely transformed my house. But thanks to Monica, I didn't make a 2700 square foot mistake. I have other projects that I will get to in time and I plan on using Monica as my "go to" designer.

It was very easy to work with Monica and she picked up well on what I wanted for a master bath remodel. I showed her a number of baths in Houzz that I liked and also colors, tiles, etc. and she put it together. It was better than what I would have done because she had ideas and suggestions on things like lighting, fixtures. types of tile that I would not have known about. She found the contractor ( who turned out to be great) as well. She worked with him for much of the job as I was out of town. I totally trusted her and she was reliable. She always was prompt in answering any questions or concerns I had.

Monica provided us with numerous types of shade options to go with our contemporary bathroom. She was extremely good at helping us match the nature aspects that we had integrated into the design that allowed the window shades to become a beautiful compliment to the design as a whole. The shade company made a mistake that Monica was quick to rectify. I highly recommend her. She was great!

Monica helped me refine paint color choices I had already made throughout my house. I had base colors but I felt it was a little flat and I needed more depth. Together, we chose shades of existing color to make subtle changes in room transitions. It made a huge difference!

Monica focused and kept us on time and budget with our kitchen/dining/living room remodel - she took our scaffold valued ideas and totally nailed them in her design. Loved her professionalism and great personality - we needed her to make our dream home a reality!

Monica helped us choose exterior paint colors for our remodeled 1950's home. The colors are excellent - we still enjoy them three years later and received numerous compliments on the look of our home.

Monica was so easy to work with. She really listened to what I wanted. I had lots of pictures and ideas. I usually do everything myself but was way to busy to decorate my family room. It turned out amazing! She also had lots of ideas for other rooms in my house. I love our family room - it flows great and everything in it is comfortable. Everyone she hired to work on the job was very professional and did a wonderful job! I would hire Monica again in a heartbeat -and to me that is the best compliment I can give!

Monica Nordquist did a fabulous job updating our older home (built in 1969). We basically remodeled our entire home and it is beautiful. She provided drawings so we could visualize the changes in the kitchen and living room; which is extremely helpful. She listened to what we wanted and also came up with good ideas and suggestions when we were unsure about something. I am especially pleased with the colors she chose for paint (we painted the whole interior of our home). They blend well from room to room and look great. She is talented with colors and knows which shade or hue will look best. I highly recommend Monica Nordquist and love my new home; it is so much lighter, brighter, cleaner, and happier.
