This sandblast effect requires the highest level of skill and time to create. Design elements are sandblast sculpted, cut deep into the glass at varying depths. Sandblast density gently fades out to clear glass, (a “gradient-like” effect), creating 3 dimensions. A Gluechip Finish is applied to the background of the glass, surrounding the design with a beautiful, sparkling texture. Objects behind it become blurred when 10-12” away from the glass. Design elements are surrounded by an 1/8” clear pinstripe. Objects can be seen when held right up against the glass. From a distance, all you see is the beautiful shimmer of the gluechip, with light, and blurry shapes and shadows coming thru.

SAFETY GLASS
All our doors are made of toughened/tempered glass. Tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the interior into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (annealed glass) does. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.

GUIDE RAIL AND COVER PLATE ARE SHORTENABLE
The length of the guide rail and cover plate can be shortened by sawing off the excess length. Please note that products that have been modified are excluded from the exchange.

A Gluechip Finish is applied to the background of the glass, surrounding the design with a beautiful, sparkling texture. Objects behind it become blurred when 10-12” away from the glass. Design elements are surrounded by an 1/8” clear pinstripe. Objects can be seen when held right up against the glass. From a distance, all you see is the beautiful shimmer of the gluechip, with light, and blurry shapes and shadows coming thru.

This 2 leaves sliding closet door is delivered with an easy-to-install bypass hardware kit. All our sliding bypass doors are 'top hung' which means the door is hung into the top rail with two trolley hangers; all the weight is taken by the hangers, making the door easier to move. The guide rail is made of strong aluminum and is therefore rust-free.

SAFETY GLASS
All our doors are made of toughened/tempered glass. Tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the interior into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (annealed glass) does. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.

GUIDE RAIL AND COVER PLATE ARE SHORTENABLE
The length of the guide rail and cover plate can be shortened by sawing off the excess length. Please note that products that have been modified are excluded from the exchange.

Design elements are sandblast etched on the top surface of the smooth, clear glass surface of acid etch frosted glass. 2D etching features “shading” where the sandblast density gently fades (a “gradient-like” effect) creating a 2 dimensional effect, but is not carved deep into the glass like 3D. The acid etch frosted finish creates 100% obscurity in the glass. Objects are only visible when pressed right up against the glass. Once a few inches away, objects can’t be seen, making it the perfect solution where you need privacy, without blocking light!

Requiring the highest level of skill and time, the design is sandblasted in STAGES, one small segment at a time. The artist sculpts and cuts, deep into the glass at varying depths, creating a relief texture in the glass. The carved edges of the various elements in the design will pick up surrounding light, illuminate, and become a 3 dimensional object free-floating in the glass. The artist also implements “shading”, where the sandblast density gently fades out to clear glass, a “gradient-like” effect that adds more intricacy and detail, to the finished look.
