The 3/4-inch-thick top and the braces, legs, doors and drawer are all made of solid domestic Brich hardwood, while the sides, back and shelves are made of finely matched, warp-resistant Birch hardwood veneer. The Empire Island boasts our largest work surface ever, with over fourteen and a half square feet of tabletop when leaves are fully extended. Full extension glides on both the leaves and the drawer allow for easy pull out and return. Cabinet doors on both sides of the island means even more convenient access to stored items. Locking casters make moving this large island a breeze, or allow for stationary use. Modern, nickel-plated hardware function as drawer and leaf pulls and double as towel bars.
