This mug was individually made by Rachel Norris in her Joy Pottery studio in Texas. The clay is a red stoneware, thrown on the potter's wheel. The design is a quilted pattern pressed into the clay right after the mug is thrown. When holding this mug one is immediatley connected to the hand of the maker. Each one will be slightly different as they are individually made. The glaze is a copper turquoise fired in oxidation to 2135 degrees F. This mug is made in an 14 oz size. It is dishwasher and microwave safe. It is designed to be used in the kitchen and on the table. All of the vessels from Joy Pottery are individually made and the variation from piece to piece are expected and part of its appeal.
