Ian J. McDonnell is one of the leading architects in the Chicagoland area, with expertise in energy efficient design-build projects. Ian graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003 with a degree in Architecture and went on to complete his Masters of Construction Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2010. He currently resides in the western suburbs of Chicago with his wife, Daughter and Baby boy.

I hired IJM Group to help me and my wife build the plan for our custom home. Ian McDonnell was one of a kind to work with. He was able to take our thoughts and ideas by word and put them to blueprints, exactly how we thought it would look. Even when we would change our mind about things, Ian was more than accommodating to help make changes as well as help educate us on what is and is not possible. Ian was very responsive, consistently helpful, and a true, trusted professional in his work and turn around time. Without a doubt, if anyone I know is looking to work with an architect, I wouldn't let them go anywhere else other than IJM Group.

Ian was introduced to me by an associate at my work. I was looking for an architect to do a floor plan for my custom home. Hesitant at the beginning but amazed at the finished product. The house turned out perfect serving our family's everyday need. Ian's attention to detail, patience, and vision helped bring out this beauty in the 18 months long project.

Currently building a custom, handicapped accessible home designed by Ian McDonald. We sought Ian's expertise to build a ranch home that provided an environment allowing us to care for our disable daughter at home. He developed plans to include an elevator, ceiling tracking system and a therapy room. He has a solid working relationshipl with our builder and really listens to the client.
