We wanted to change a storage area into habitable space. We wanted to do it the right way so we could get the sq ft officially added. This required an architected plan for the City of Woodinville. I contacted several local architects, but Stephen was the first to call back. We found him easy to work with and he got the plans done and submitted within days. the project is now done and permit signed off! Thanks Stephen.

Steve has done a fantastic job picking up our in progress remodel design. Great recommendations for improvements to the design. Quickly updated our plans, prepared our permit application and got plans submitted smoothly to the County (making up 10 months of lost time with last architect). We found Steve on the Internet and were drawn by his design and aesthetic demonstrated in previous projects. Our project was a relatively simple garage. Steve came out to look at the house and lot, and collected info from us. He is friendly and knowledgable...offered design ideas and suggestions to make the new garage most useful and valuable. He was able to produce a full set of drawings in a short period of time and got our project off to a great start.

We hired Steve to design our retirement dream home on a shy acre near Woodinville. We had spent many months researching home plans available online and nothing really fit with our property and our needs. Steve listened carefully to our combination of likes, dislikes, desires, goals and budgetary limits. He designed a delightfully lovely, unique and practical home for us that exceeded our expectations and stayed within our financial boundaries. Steve worked with us as we were deciding whether to do a gut remodel/addition or to tear down and start over on small lake cabin. Steve's patience, insight and clear and direct communication were very helpful. Steve was also very professional and mindful of our design budget-- his contract was clear and concise, with valuable waypoints built in to keep us on track without spinning our wheels "overdesigning". Exactly as he promised, we got through a preliminary set of drawings and Steve met with us and our contractor to review and get a basic estimate. It was then that a job opportunity made it clear that we would not be proceeding at all. Steve was supportive and understanding and because of his professional guidance we feel good about the decision knowing that someone else will benefit from our early efforts.

We live in a slightly larger than 1,000 square foot ranch style home in a lovely neighborhood in Bellevue. We needed an architect to assist us in understanding the scope of either a 1-story or 2 story remodel in our neighborhood versus our other option of selling and buying a larger home in our neighborhood. Steve was clearly very knowledgeable about the extent to what should be considered with our home, and he was also very design savvy. He provided an idea of how we can remodel our home that would be in keeping with our budget. We do recommend Steve!

Steve and Ane helped us remodel our kitchen. It involved removing several walls, false ceilings, new window arrangement and entire reconfiguration of the space. I hired Steve Petersen to design a custom building for me in 2010. It was to be a large 2 car garage with a bonus room and a Mother in Law apartment built into the side-hill underneath. I found Steve easy to work with, a good listener, innovative and cost conscious. I was most impressed during our second meeting when he revealed a most unique design. He had taken my rough sketches and the unusual side-hill lot terrain and come up with just a stunning building. We fine tuned it over the next couple of meetings and a site visit. Steve also accompanied me on initial meetings with the county when applying for the building permit. Counties are tough these days and I was glad to have Steve with me because he was able to not only answer their questions in regard to the building, he was also able to determine exactly what they wanted in order to grant the permit. I built the exact design and the building is not only functional, but I get compliments from all who see it.
