John C. Flood did a good job replacing the hot water heater in our condo. Our old HWH seemed to be chugging along just fine, but it was 18 years old and not providing as much hot water as it used to. We also didn't want to risk a sudden HWH failure and the attendant damage it could do to our condo or to our neighbors. So it was time to replace it. We called a few plumbing companies for estimates and availability and ended up going with John C. Flood. John C. Flood's technicians were prompt and professional. A plumber came out first to make sure a 50 gallon replacement unit would fit in the small closet where it's located. HWH specs have changed dramatically in the last 18 years, plus updated codes require the installation of a smaller expansion tank on top and a drip pan underneath. All of these things can impact the size of the actual hot water heater you end up with, if like us, you're dealing with a small cramped space to begin with. We certainly didn't want to order a unit that didn't fit and very much appreciated someone coming out to do a pre-clearance. After confirming that everything would fit, we were given an estimate for the installation of a new HWH unit as well as proper removal and disposal of the old unit. John C. Flood also had openings the following week to do the install. We had a little flexibility since this wasn't an emergency same day repair, which thankfully removes a lot of the stress of replacing your hot water heater. We made the appointment with John C. Flood for the following week. On the appointed day/time, the plumber (whose name I cannot recall, though he was a kind and professional young man) arrived right on time and set to work. A colleague of his arrived to assist with the careful removal of the old HWH and to bring in the new one. Our hot water heater is located at the bottom of interior stairs in our condo. Even a completely drained hot water heater is quite heavy because sediment collects at the bottom as years go by. This part of the project definitely required two people! The entire project took several hours - I actually expected it would take longer. We had a State 50 gallon electric hot water heater installed. We were and are very pleased with the hot water heater and the service/price provided by John C. Flood. We will call them again for future service needs.

We've been happy with all the work we've had done when we replaced our heat pump but on our recommendation my brother contacted them for an estimate on a project that didn't go well. The company sent the wrong person out with the wrong tools, they arrived well after the arranged time and then had to go back to the shop to get the right tools at which point my brother said never mind. Instead his tenant did the project himself for a few dollars whereas Floods estimated hundreds of dollars. Feeling less willing to have them replace my toilet after his experience.
