Strongly rooted in the Vail Valley, my passion for design draws from a diverse experience in world travel, art and construction resulting in high-quality, well balanced and cost effective design solutions. My distinctive projects integrate timeless, bold designs infused with contemporary influences and make people more attuned with their mountain surroundings. I encourage collaboration and carefully curate functional homes that inspire a balanced lifestyle. BKW Architects focuses on long-lasting designs, excellent service and competitive fees without sacrificing quality. I use emerging technologies and state of the art, three-dimensional computer modeling (Revit) resulting in innovative design and comprehensive construction documents. I’m experienced in durable and sustainable green building practices and have completed projects at various levels of LEED certification. Prior to founding BKW Architects, I was with Berglund Architects. During my 15 years as a project Architect, I designed award winning, high-end custom residential homes throughout the Vail Valley and Islands of the West Indies. The decision to leave a successful firm was tough as I helped start that business from the ground up, however I’m eager to build a new firm I’m equally proud of that I can call my own. I hold a Bachelor of Environmental Design, Emphasis in Architecture, from the University of Colorado (2004). Formerly a member of the US Marine Corps, I took a break from civilian life to complete a tour in Iraq in 2007. A licensed architect since 2015 and a member of the American Association of Architects (AIA), I look forward to continuing to impact the residential landscape of the Vail Valley.
