Samuel R. Clausen grew up on the Gulf Coast in Pensacola, Florida where he developed a profound interest in all of the different vernaculars of architecture in the area. After achieving numerous awards and honors in the drafting field, Sam earned a scholorship to pursue a degree in drafting and design at Pensacola Junior College. After moving to Jacksonville in the fall of 1997, Sam continued his education at ITT Technical Institute where he earned a degree in Computer Aided Drafting Technology. While still enrolled at ITT Sam was hired by Richard R. Dostie, New Home Collection, an award winning second generation local custom home builder in the Jacksonville area. During his tenure with Richard R. Dostie, Sam honed his skills as a residential designer designing custom homes under the tutelage of Bruce Lingerfelt, another long time fixture in the local Jacksonville home building industry. In September of 2003, Richard R. Dostie was acquired by Toll Brothers, Inc. the nations leading builder of luxury homes. As an Architectural Project Manager for Toll Brothers, Sam was responsible for a team of draftsman and designers as well as all of the new custom home designs in Jacksonville and the North Florida Region. After heading up the Florida North Architecture Department for more than 2 years, Sam decided it was finally time to pursue his own dreams and devote full time efforts to his own custom home design business in Jacksonville, FL. Today, Sam continues to serve the Jacksonville area as a Residential Designer and as Vice President of Product Development for Dostie Homes. To date, Sam has designed numerous Parade of Homes winning homes and been recognized by his peers as a leader in innovative custom home design concepts and new home construction.
