About Us

Lisa Dubin is the principal and founder of the architectural firm Lisa Dubin Architect. She is a graduate of the Master of Architecture program at Columbia University and holds a B.S. degree from Ohio State University. With 25 years experience in the field of architecture and design, Lisa is a member of The American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. She has lectured and participated in juries at Columbia University, SUNY Stoneybrook, Pratt Institute and the University of Cincinnati. Additionally, Lisa is the Shelter Consultant for The International Rescue Committee, advisor to a number of organizations including the core committee to revise the Sphere Standards for Humanitarian Response, Architecture for Humanity, the Urban Design Lab of the Earth Institute and a member of the Executive Council of Bpeace.

Lisa Dubin is a talented architect with a modern sensibility. Her eye is astute and her work detailed and thorough. She makes a great attempt to understand the clients lifestyle and incorporate into the design. She cares about her work and follows through on the job-site with the contractors. She is lovely to work with and comes highly recommended. She is responsive to requests and communicative. And on top of it all her work, design, choice of materials and the like is outstanding and ultimately beautiful. She has very high standards...!

May 6, 2013 To Whom It May Concern Lisa Dubin is remarkable in her ability to see the big picture and never lose sight of the minutest details. She has designed and implemented renovations and improvements in our central park west apartment to our ongoing delight. Her talents go from drawing the perfect benches/cabinets/door panels to bookcases/window benches, and then choosing the right master carpenter to carry it all out. Wondering whether to drop a ceiling, light a room, choose a fixture, or whatever: architect Lisa Dubin will have the perfect solution. Lisa Dubin met all deadlines and budgets. She suggested the names of several contractors for each project and worked well with them. Lisa Dubin completed three projects for our family over the course of 15 years.

I hired Lisa to renovate a co-op in a landmark (Art Deco) building in Midtown Manhattan. The project consisted of removing walls and redesigning the kitchen and bathrooms. She kept my taste and vision in mind at all times, while respecting the building's history. It's a pleasure to work with someone who has such a deep appreciation for architectural aesthetics. Lisa never tired of my ongoing questions (I can be a "nitpicker") -- even about the smallest details. I give her my highest recommendation.
