I've never done a major reno and didn't have any friends or family who could recommend a good contractor, so it took me a long time to find someone I was comfortable with. I'm so glad I waited until I found Julie Marwood of Marwood Design! I am so impressed with her flexibility, patience, kindness, perseverance and awesome design talent! I don't like shopping and struggle to imagine what those tiny paint, quartz and flooring samples will look like full scale in my home. I dreaded picking out all of the pieces of my kitchen and main floor reno, not to mention trying to figure out which are good quality products. Julie guided me through what I thought would be an overwhelming and stressful process and made it much easier than I could have hoped. She quickly figured out what I liked and was able to find the right products for my home with very little effort on my part. When I had doubts about some of the choices, she listened to my concerns and explained how changes in lighting, etc. will impact the overall look. I'm so glad I followed her advice -- I absolutely love my renos! They're better than I imagined! Julie has an amazing, talented team of employees and contractors. Everyone was professional, did high quality work, and was a pleasure to have in my home. Julie quickly responded to my calls and texts whenever I had questions or concerns about the construction process. Her contractors were very skilled, knowledgeable, approachable, and demonstrated pride in doing excellent work. My project was completed on budget with the exception of higher costs for more expensive items that I requested (e.g. Silgranit sink vs stainless steel), and add-ons once the project was underway (e.g. additional dimmer light switch). In each of these cases, Julie informed me of the additional costs and got my agreement before the work proceeded. I highly recommend Julie and want to hire her again for my next renovation project!

Julie and her team took our house from 90s Ralph Lauren to a modern mix of classic style, clean lines and mid century vintage. The result was sophisticated yet comfortable, and entirely appropriate for our craftsman-era family home. When it came to design choices, Julie listened to our needs and offered various options. It was easy to make decisions and when we needed guidance, her advice was always spot on. All of the contractors were professional, polite, trustworthy and reasonably priced. This was our first large renovation project and I would recommend Julie for anyone undertaking a remodel, large or small.

Julie was able to translate our vision into a functional and attractive home. She was responsive when issues arose and worked with us to develop workable solutions. She put together and coordinated the work of a competent team (contractor, designer, architect) which created for us the home we had hoped for. She is pleasant to work with and was respectful of the extra precautions needed to work through a pandemic. We would definitely work with Julie again and recommend her services. Our project was a major renovation to 1700 sq. ft. condominium apartment originally built in the 1980's. We completely replaced a kitchen, all the apartment flooring, relocated a bathroom, remodeled two fireplaces, replaced windows, lowered the ceiling to add recessed lighting and created a pocket door entrance to the guest room. There were many challenges in this project which involved working around the existing infrastructure found in an apartment building and restrictions imposed by the condo board. However, we now have a beautiful home.

Marwood Architecture Design remodelled my kitchen, which was extremely dark and dated. My kitchen is now two - toned (dark wood and white) with glass cabinet doors where my dishes are kept. The kitchen is exactly what I wanted; it is now bright, cheery and updated. Marwood Design also assisted with recovering my stools and replacing my blinds. This company, along with it's contractors, were extremely courteous and professional. They also kept to the timeline as promised which was essential given our busy lifestyle. I have received numerous compliments on my kitchen. I would highly recommend this company and I would definitely use them again!
