Stephen Dargo Architect LLC

Stephen Dargo believes that Architecture has the potential to reflect ideas and concepts that are external to the built environment. Any built space, from the simplest of kitchen renovations to the most complex buildings, can draw upon this concept to create engaging, meaningful and truthful Architecture. Stephen had practiced commercial and residential architecture in New York City since 1999 before moving to Jamestown, Rhode Island in the fall of 2021. Specializing in conceptual design, Project Management, and the delivery of architectural projects from pre-design through completion, Stephen enables communication by understanding client needs, and by parsing information between team members. He engages specific design strategies to support the project goals, and problem solves using the collective talents of the team, ensuring proper interpretation and delivery of the design intent. Stephen studied History of Culture as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin - Madison (B.S.) and Architecture at Columbia University (M. Arch). After graduating as a winner of the William F. Kinne Fellows Traveling Prize for "The Work of Bruno Stagno and Ambient Syncretism in Costa Rica", he began practicing architecture in New York City, and in late 2021 SDA moved to Jamestown, Rhode Island. Stephen is a Registered Architect (RA) in the States of Rhode Island and New York, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Stephen also has taught first year architecture students as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York City College of Technology.
