Function and art combine with these unique sound absorbing wall panels. Each decorative acoustic panel is hand felted using natural wools, many from animals I have met or owned at one time or another. The surface design is determined by the unique properties of each particular wool & fiber. Panels may include a variety of items other than wool including silk fibers, feathers, pebbles, fabric, and hand spun yarn. Wool acts as a sound absorbing material because the individual fibers vibrate and dissipate the energy created by the sound source. Felt brings these fibers together and offers increased efficiency as an acoustic fabric over synthetic counterparts. Not only is the panel's front surface made from felted wool fabric, but they are also filled with carded batts of wool to further improve the room acoustics.
