MAKI YAMAMOTO Is an international textile-design firm, the firm’s dynamic designs are inspired by couture. The firm’s sophisticated textiles are inspiringly used in residential and commercial designs. Whether used to enhance the vision of an interior designer or to bring stunning impact to theatrical application, visual merchandising or celebratory events, Maki Yamamoto delivers innovation, style and luxury. Innovator and creative director, Maki Yamamoto, is a graduate of the renowned Bunka Fashion College in her native Tokyo. Maki’s knowledge of couture culture and passion for textiles and art led to the launch her own design company in 2003, shortly after relocating to New York. Since then, she has collaborated with interior designers such as Amy Lau, Pierce Allen, Peter Marino Architect, The Gettys Group, and Virserius Studio to name a few. Many of Yamamoto’s innovations have become signature to her client’s designs in commercial application, at Chanel, Guerlain, Tahari, several hotels, as well as special events like the Cooper Hewitt Museum’s National Design Awards Gala, and the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club Decorator Show House. Much of the work has been published in renowned publications including, The New York Times, Interior Design Magazine, Hospitality, Shelter, Luxury Living, Contract and New York Space, as well in Amy Lau’s book Expressive Modern. Interior designers, architects, theatrical designers, event planners, and visual merchandisers collaborate with Maki to create bespoke commissions for their projects. Maki lives, and works in New York City.
