I recently hired Matthew for several Ipe decks with stainless steel cable handrails, and front porch repair on several residential landscape project that I had designed. The finished deck/porch turned out great on both projects. Matthew is very easy to deal with, very responsive, and helpful in explaining the options. The project was on budget, and once the work started they were there everyday until it was finished. I would highly recommend them for any deck or porch project.

Beautiful deck, solid project, transparent around costs materials vs. labor. Went back and forth on options a few times so we could understand everything. Worked with our schedule. Cleaned up. There was some issue with a downspout, and Matt came back and took care of it free of charge. All-around an A+ contractor experience.

Matthew was recommended by neighbors and we would recommend him as well now, following his building a back deck for us. He and his crew member worked diligently and effectively, addressing any issues that arose, producing an end product that he now features on his website. Matthew communicated nicely with us, keeping us informed all along the way, as well as helping obtain good results related to the supply of materials when extras were needed. We are very pleased with our new deck.

Overall - I rate Matthew and his team as a 4.5 (almost, not quite 5). He basically designed and built a complete rebuild/extension to an existing roof deck on a triple decker in Cambridgeport. Matthew was personable, understood my preferences in style and values and was flexible in the design and material selection. He was always 'above-board' (several other contractors had told me, when estimating the work, said: 'we can just do the work without a permit') - he permitted the initial work efficiently and the subsequent refiling for modifications after underway. My only concern was the delay in getting the project going, but that is not unsurprising in the covid context. I understood we were 'next in line' after another project that took longer than anticipated. I appreciated the honesty and clear communication throughout the wait. Once underway, the team was clean and courteous and very respectful of my neighbors (who commented to me positively about the team, unsolicited). Matthew put in extra hours to get the work done quickly. The final product came out great. Looking forward to enjoying it fully this year! (signed contract in Nov 20; work started ~June 21; finished ~July 21).

Matthew and his team are creative and high quality builders. They built a cabin for me and every inch of it is exquisite and extremely well built. They are easy to collaborate with, reliable, and dependable. I highly recommend them! You won’t be disappointed.

Matt is a high quality and very creative builder. My shed project went smoothly and was quite fun because of Matt’s ideas. He and his partner were deeply interested in problem solving and paid close attention to my ideas as well. The entire collaboration was rewarding from start to finish. I would not hesitate to recommend Matt and his crew for any project, from the small to the ambitious.

Matthew from Dexksos completely rebuilt our deck a couple of years ago. He was a great communicator and listener throughout the project. He worked as quietly and neatly as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed working with him and were always happy to have him at our house.

After consulting a number of contractors for our deck build in Cambridge, Matthew and team were the easy choice. During the quote process he understood my vision and was engaged and attentive throughout. He was also reasonably priced. Above all else I felt like he actually cared about the project. The work he did wasn’t easy. This is the top floor of a 3 family that provided some logistical issue but he didn’t blink. The end result was a beautiful and unique mahogany deck that is our own little urban oasis. I would not hesitate to recommend Matthew and team for your next project. He is committed to your project and an A+ communicator who does great work. I would hire again in a second.

I contacted Matt for a quote on my deck project back in August. We chatted briefly a couple of times before he came by to see the property. He promised a proposal “in a week or two”. A week went by and we followed up, Matt said he’d been out of cell reception and was moving. He’d get something to us soon. It’s been 2 months. We heard absolutely nothing. Maybe he’s great but we’re dealing with a 2-story deck that’s structurally compromised with severe rot. We don’t have the luxury of waiting months to hear back. I don’t like having my time wasted. It’s really annoying.

Removal of a large pine tree and stump gave us the opportunity to expand and reconfigure the front entrance deck and steps into our house. My son and I are competent with the carpentry but did not have the time, skills or prowess to dig footings or pour pads. In addition, there were other possible timing issues so I was looking for someone who might be willing to do some aspects of the project but not necessarily all. Matt and Connor of Creative Spaces were recommended to me by a neighbor. I called and Matt came over the next day. We discussed the project and Matt came back the following day with a quote for (1) piers and pad, (2) ledger board, (3) deck structure (without decking), and (4) the complete project. Not all companies are willing to take on only part of a project – it’s all or nothing. Based on costs and other factors, we elected to go with (1) and (2) from Creative Spaces and do the rest on our own. As a small (two-day) project, they were able to schedule it quickly and showed up as agreed. The work went smoothly. The workmanship was excellent and professional. Matt and Connor were a pleasure to have around and even provided helpful advice on aspects of the project they weren’t doing. I have no reservation recommending Matt and Connor of Creative Spaces!
