Fresh Decks

We are glad we hired Shane and Fresh Decks to build our new deck and replace part of our backyard fence. The new deck is solid and although we wanted something very simple, it still looks great. After dealing with some other contractors in Regina, Shane was the most professional and responsive. His employees were friendly and they got the jobs done quickly. We would recommend Shane and Fresh Decks.

Fresh Decks built a deck off my new home (semi-detached) and I'm thrilled with the result. The deck is exactly as I envisioned and was done quickly, efficiently and with care. I originally wanted to build a deck myself, but it was hard to find the time with a young baby. I eventually listened to reason (my wife) and hired Fresh Decks. I am glad I did, because I would never have been able to put it together as well as Shane. Aside from the build quality, I also appreciated the fact that he kept his work space clean. I have always hated how some builders / contractors leave a trail of debris on the job site.

We hired Fresh Decks to do an approximately 14x24 single-tier back-yard deck with some funky angles and cutouts for steps, corners, etc. From our first contact, Shane was friendly and accommodating to our design ideas and schedule. We ended up doing some of the design, to which he provided great feedback and some excellent tweaks to edges, steps, skirting, decking angles, etc. At our request, he created formal drawings and obtained the required permits, custom ordered material and arranged for deliveries, installation of screw piles, etc. Shane wowed us with his careful planning, meticulous execution, and attention to detail. He ensured he was present during installation of the screw piles; the installation of the ledger, beams and framing was rock-solid. The majority of the composite decking (Fiberon ‘Rosewood’) was done with hidden fasteners and the remaining edges done with capped/covered color-matched screws and plugs, almost invisible. Final installation of skirting was delayed at our request to allow us to lay new walks around the deck: Shane installed guide marks in key locations to ensure that we had clear indications of the required height of the walk. We would, without question HIGHLY recommend this firm and its owner. Even though he was a week away from his wedding, and the temperatures in the 30s, there was no compromise on the quality of the work or the housekeeping. Other contractors working in the area and the neighbours have commented on the clean lines and solid construction. While we didn’t do a pergola or other cover options at the time, we won’t hesitate to call him back to do this once the plans evolve.

Fresh Decks designed and constructed a two tier deck for me off of the back of my new home. The design included privacy screen on one side of upper deck, and skirting for storage underneath. They obtained the building permit for me, final costs were exactly as estimated, they worked very long hours for 3 days, cleaned up the scrap, and even power washed the deck after it was completed. I am very happy with this contractor and my new decks!

This company built our deck. They are a great company, quality workmanship. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Love the style, design and quality of the deck they built us.
