The Idea I started Silva Studio East to create hardwood furniture of my own design. Design ideas come from things I see every day, inspiration from other artists, and a vision to create an environment that is reflective of natural modern surroundings. Nature never seems to go out of style. About The Process All designs begin with an idea then a drawing. I can get an idea anywhere at any time. Some drawings are still on file on the original diner place mat I drew them on. Sometimes I go right to the shop with the drawing other times I make a cardboard model. Even though the first new piece I make is often rough or awkward, it's always my favorite and I usually keep it for myself. Once I iron out the details, I offer it to others.
