My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

About Us

For the longest time I had a hard time not being "normal." I graduated from a small liberal arts college, got a desk job, and hated every minute of it. In 2007 my life changed dramatically after hiking the entirity of the Appalachian Trail. It was a gut check in life and I'm lucky it happened when I was 27 and not 67. My time in the woods gave me a perspective on the benefits of simplicity. It was in the woods that I promised myself that I wouldn't spend a lifetime doing a job I didn't enjoy. Thirteen years after hiking the trail I am blessed to own my own business and have never been happier. To be able to pay the bills while doing something that I am passionate about is one of the greatest things I have found in life. I'm lucky to have my wife Kim by my side as well as my beautiful daughters Vera and Lucy.

We had a great experience working with Dave, Adam and their extended team on two bathroom renovations. Dave is highly professional with an upbeat, can-do approach. He was very interested in quality work and ensuring we were happy with the results. So pleased we are looking to hire Dave again soon for a new project! Would highly recommend.

I have used Dave and his team for a number of renovation projects as well as a significant outdoor fencing project that needed to be subtle. In every case, i found them to have excellent ideas which are well communicated. They are professional, respectful, responsive and do excellent work. I highly recommend them.

I worked with Dave, Adam, and Gary on my kitchen, and it was a great experience... I live in an older home, and wanted a vintage look...inset doors, cut-out details on the cabinet doors, old-fashioned latches, all wood cabinets, an adapted, antique dresser as a sink base...not the usual...and no one batted an eyelash. Everything was done professionally, the cabinets are beautifully made, and installed safely and securely (and absolutely no drama). The guys were very knowledgeable about building codes and safety...so they will keep you on the right track there, as well. I believe their pricing was very good, especially considering my somewhat quirky requests... The house is old, there is more work to be done, so they will be back...

Its not often you can give 5 stars without even a hesitation. This is one of those cases. Dave completed 3 beautiful pieces for a project of ours including a beautiful bookcase that has been described by one friend as "that is just OMG". Working with contractors isnt always the easiest thing in the world but with Dave it definitely was. Great group to work with and talk thru projects and always concerned with making sure we were completely satisfied. Couldnt be happier with this partnership. Thanks Dave!

From start to finish on this project, Dave Herrle was an absolute pleasure to work with. A great sense of humor and enthusiasm in an artisan are not requirements for a successful working relationship, but it certainly helped the whole process be infused with joy, Dave worked to bring my vision of a kitchen island (made entirely from spectacular reclaimed chestnut) to life (and exactly in timeframe he committed to). The scale and design are perfect. There is only one problem with it - it is so beautiful, I have a hard time leaving its side. In this age of homogeneity in all things,I also love that it is a one-of-a-kind piece that you won't find at Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware. Cannot not wait to work with Dave again on our next project. This man has PASSION and TALENT in spades!

Dave did an excellent job. His craftsmanship is superb. He and his partner are very professional and courteous and following the consultation and estimate, the job was completed in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend Dave. We are very pleased with his work.

I'm an interior designer, and brought Dave and Adam on to one of my residential projects. I was so impressed by their professionalism, attention to detail, and knowledge. When they said they'd get something done by a certain date, they delivered, and perfectly. Big bonus: They know how to work with design professionals. They will be my go-to team from now on.

This past winter I was looking for a wine rack for my kitchen. I contacted Dave about what I was looking for and we discussed the options. I was able to choose the type of wood (dark walnut) and I gave him an idea of what I was looking for with the design. When discussing the rack he was very energetic and made me feel like he was looking forward to the rack as much as I was. When I received the wine rack it was perfect. It was exactly what I envisioned and it looked great in my kitchen! Dave was great to work with and was professional throughout the process. He was able to take my idea and turn if into exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend Herrle Custom Carpentry for any projects you may have in your home and I look forward to contacting Dave regarding my next home project!

When looking for carpenters to design and install custom built-ins, a friend who owns a lumber company sent me a list of local carpenters. Dave and Adam were listed, and after phoning a few, Dave phoned within 24 hours, and from there on we knew we were going to hire them. They stayed within budget, met deadlines, and build us beautiful shelves surrounding our new gas fireplace. Awesome job!!!! Very professional, and better still, easy to reach via email when we have questions or concerns. Loved them, would definitely hire them again.
