Jose and his crew did an amazing job refinishing my kitchen cabinets that were 13 years old that had an ugly and fading "honey" stain. We chose to have the uppers painted white and the lowers stained a different color (we kept the drawer faces on the lowers but bought new doors because we wanted a different style). All the cabinets and frames were sanded down to remove every last bit of old stain. He was able to custom match the white paint to the white I had on my walls and he mixed up a custom stain color by mixing two different stains to match a sample piece of wood that I had. The match was perfect! All the drawer faces and doors were moved and taken offsite to work on which was really nice for us. He primed the uppers and painted them a matte white and they match perfectly with my walls. He had several steps in the staining process for the lowers that involved applying one stain color first, then a sealer, then the next stain color and sealed it again. Jose had the difficult job of matching the final stain result for 3 different kinds of wood that the builder had originally used and on top of that matching the finished stain on new wood doors to the rest of the old 13yo wood. The end result is beautiful and I would highly recommend him!

There is no doubt in our minds that SD Painting and Refinishing is the company for anyone with a need for detailed refinishing. We had our kitchen and office cabinets painted several years ago. I was not pleased with the first company and had to have them redo some of the work. After renting our property we discovered that there was a great deal of damage done to the painted cabinetry. Mostly because of the lack of sanding before they painted and so the paint did not adhere. Jose and his team came in and sanded everything and basically redid all the damaged areas plus extra. The price was reasonable and the workers were quiet and pleasant. The best part was the finished product. Wow! Like new! I have already hired them to do additional work on two other projects and plan to make them my go-to team for A+ work. High attention to detail. Oak cabinets I wanted painted white. They must have sanded and printed primer four times so that it was exactly right. Amazing kitchen that looks new again.

New solid wood doors, drawer fronts, drawer boxes, self closing hinges and glides, refinish cabinet frame and match to new doors, new crown molding. A high quality job done within time and budget. I’ve owned several homes and have had every type of home improvement job done several times by many companies over the years. We bought an 1935 home with very old (but well made) kitchen cabinets that needed refinishing and overhaul of the hardware and hinges. After investigating many companies we settled with Jose’s company. I could not be more Pleased with the outcome. They setup a full painting and drying area on site and redid alll the cabinets and hardware in 4 days. They taped and prepped kitchen, they kept everything clean daily, and left zero mess at the end of the job. The refinish job was better than I could ever imagine. The cabinets look and feel completely brand new. The kitchen looks incredible. There’s a reason why his company is in high demand! My cabinets are simply gorgeous! My kitchen went from cookie cutter drab to something you would see on HGTV. The workers were punctual and friendly. What a difference one week makes! Thanks to Jose and his incredible team at San Diego Painting & Refinishing we now how a beautiful updated kitchen. The entire process was seamless. We chose to have the cabinet doors replaced, the drawers rebuilt with new fronts, and new finishing moulding. The new doors and drawer fronts are oak to match the existing cabinet boxes. Once painted, the grain shows through and its absolutely beautiful! Much more visually appealing than a flat surface. Jose was great to work with. Two appointments before the job, one for the initial quote and one for measurements. Two weeks later he was out to do the job. Absolutely no issues!! We even had them paint a bookcase and the stair rails. Everything is perfect. Don;t be part of the wasteful society. If the layout of your kitchen works, this is a perfect update solution! I cannot say enough about Jose and San Diego Painting and Refinishing. He was the first I got an estimate from and I never looked at any others. I had beautiful solid oak cabinets, but the stain was looking dirty and outdated. They were 30 years old. I decided to paint them which I felt would be the cheapest and modernize them. I found SDP&R on line. Jose gave me ideas, which I incorporated into my upgrade. My gut feeling was right about Jose and his company. They were here when they said they would be and the process was clean and easy. The final product was beautiful.
