BDLovett Automation and Security

Benjamin Lovett out as an architectural and commercial real estate photographer based out of San Francisco, CA, where he quickly grew a passion for all the emerging home tech. He was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, but was adopted at an early age and moved to the Bay Area where he grew up. Initially driven to become an architect, Ben took every relevant design and engineering course his middle and high school offered. Luckily, Mountain View High School offered three levels of engineering and a specific architectural design course. He spent plenty of time then sketching designs and floor plans he thought up in his head. However, with the the economic crisis of 2008, the impaction of universities nation-wide, the increasing competitiveness of architectural programs in college, and the decreasing number of employed architects, Ben altered his career direction. He changed his Major at San Jose State University to Business Administration and added a minor in Photography. After delving in event photography, portraiture, product, and food photography, Ben eventually rediscovered his passion for architecture in his photography and began learning everything he could about how to create masterfully-crafted images of structures and spaces. He has studied a number of styles and processes including Mike Kelley's signature light painting method with expert attention to detail.
