Lou Boxer has been building custom homes in the Berkshires for over 30 years. Lou started as a carpenter and quickly transitioned to business owner, employing some of the finest carpenters in the area. Still very hands-on in his business, Lou Boxer Builder, he enjoys taking a multi-year project from inception to completion, carefully managing every step along the way. Lou's first allegiance is to the client, he can work simply with a set of blueprints, or as a part of a three-way team with clients and architect. With his expertise in translating plans into reality, he can make feasibility assessments about the long-range venture, develop realistic budgets, and, if necessary, can value engineer projects to align with client’s financial objectives and changing needs. The projects Lou works on range from traditional to minimalist to outrageous, as envisioned by some of the foremost architects, interior designers and landscape architects practicing today. Lou Boxer Builder specializes in building homes with multiple buildings, challenging and/or unusual site conditions and myriad architectural details, both interior and exterior. Lou has a stable, tenured, and accomplished crew and office staff who are the backbone of the business. Lou Boxer Builder executes the bulk of the carpentry; the exterior, framing, interior partitioning, finish and detail work. To handle the balance of the work, Lou has amassed a large network of talented, reliable, and loyal sub-contractors. His well-developed design aesthetic allows Lou to fully participate and collaborate in all aspects of the process. He makes recommendations and decisions in the field to ensure that the design concept is followed and that any problems or concerns are immediately addressed. Lou's relationships with his clients are at the heart of his business, evident during the building process and beyond. Lou's commitment to the client does not end when the keys are turned over; he usually maintains contact with his clients years after the project is completed.
