About Us

I am a small design/build company specializing in custom exterior structures, including decks, custom fences small accessory structures like backyard studios, sheds and kids' forts. I have a breadth of history in both the design and build worlds. Growing up in a house handbuilt by my dad I was introduced to construction early (and often with a tablesaw running right outside my bedroom door!). I spent 3 years of my early 20's as a professional cabinetmaker, sometimes self-employed and for a couple years at a custom cabinet shop in St. Paul. Through that I became fascinated with furniture and architectural design, where I went on to the University of Minnesota to achieve my Bachelors of Design in Architecture. During those years I worked as a part-time independent trim carpenter. Since then I spent 3 years as a project coordinator at a small company specializing in consultation and project management for accessibility modifications while slowly growing my own design/build business. My longstanding desire to create something of my own, which initially began with a study of cabinetry and furniture, has led me here, where I have the great pleasure of seeing every job through from start to finish!
